Chvatěruby is a municipality and village in Mělník District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 600 inhabitants.

History

The first historical mention of Chvatěruby was recorded in 1141, when Ida, a relative of Prince and King Vladislav II, gave Chvatěruby to the Doksany monastery.

Year 1932

In the village of Chvatěruby (566 inhabitants, gendarmerie, Catholic church) the following trades and shops were registered in 1932: 3 taverns, a wheelwright, the Svépomoc consumer association, a blacksmith, a shoemaker, a bottled beer shop, 5 peasants, a butcher, 2 shops with mixed goods, 2 newsagents, the Matějovský estate.[2]
