According to the state-owned Electricity Generation Company there are 617 million tons of reserves, with the average energy value of coal of 1.031 Kcal/kg.[4] Seam depths are 50 – 175 m, moisture content 53%, ash content 20% and sulfur content 1.2%.[5]
Energy thinktank Shura suggests that people whose jobs are at risk of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism could be offered retraining or early retirement.[6]: 10–13
