Miss Grand International 2024 will be the 12th edition of the Miss Grand International pageant on 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand and Cambodia.[1][2]

Luciana Fuster of Peru will crown her successor at the end of the event.[3][4]

Background

Location and date

In June 2022, the president of the contest, Nawat Itsaragrisil, stated that the host country for Miss Grand International 2025 was already decided but could not be revealed at the moment due to a contractual agreement,[5][6][7] while the host country for the 2024 edition was in the process of negotiation.[5]

The mutual agreement between the 2024 host country, Myanmar, and the Miss Grand International PCL was reached in July 2022 with the memorandum of understanding between the Myanmar local organizer, Glamorous International, and the MGI PCL, signed in early 2023, at the MGI Hall, Bangkok, Thailand.[8] It was then officially announced on the grand final stage of Miss Grand International 2023 on 25 October 2023;[9] however, Miss Grand International Organization later announced on 22 May 2024 that Myanmar was no longer the host country for the contest due to domestic political crisis.[10] Cambodia and Thailand were elected as the replacements.[1][2]

Selection of participants

Three delegates, Canada, Egypt and Portugal, won their titles as a supplemental title in a multiple-award national pageant. Nineteen delegates, Albania, Argentina, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Côte d'Ivoire, Cuba, Curaçao, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Hong Kong, Mexico, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Paraguay, United Kingdom and Venezuela, were appointed to their titles without competing in a 2024 national pageant.[citation needed]

Debuts, returns and withdrawals

This edition has the returns of Cameroon and Côte d'Ivoire which last competed in 2014. Lithuania in 2017. Norway and Tanzania in 2018. Estonia in 2019. Finland in 2020. Sweden in 2021, and Bangladesh, China, Curaçao, Pakistan, Portugal and Sri Lanka last competed in 2022.[citation needed]
