The Nepal Premier League (NPL) (Nepali: नेपाल प्रिमियर लिग) is an upcoming franchise-based Twenty20 cricket competition, organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). The first season is set to be held from 30 November to 21 December 2024.[1] The tournament will use a round-robin format, with the top teams moving on to the playoffs.
History
In 2024, the CAN announced the creation of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), scheduled for November and December 2024.[2] On 2 August 2024, CAN invited proposals for franchise ownership.[3][4] The official logo of the league was revealed on 19 August 2024.[5][6]
Teams
The Nepal Premier League is expected to feature seven teams, each representing a major city in Nepal. The official list of teams has not yet been announced, as CAN has only recently called for franchise ownership proposals.[citation needed]
