Aatto Sonninen (24. joulukuuta 1922 Kuopion maalaiskunta[1] – 31. maaliskuuta 2009 Jyväskylä[2]) oli lääkäri ja foniatrian ja logopedian vaikuttaja puolen vuosisadan ajan.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
Henkilöhistoria ja ammattiura
Sonnisen vanhemmat olivat opettaja Albanus Sonninen ja Edla Maria Nuutinen ja puoliso vuodesta 1946 opettaja Eeva Katri Reunanen. Sonninen tuli ylioppilaaksi Kuopion lyseosta 1942 ja valmistui lääketieteen lisensiaatiksi 1950. Lääketieteen ja kirurgian tohtoriksi hän väitteli 1956, jolloin hän sai myös puhe- ja äänihäiriöiden sekä korva-, nenä- ja kurkkutautien erikoislääkärin pätevyydet. Uransa alkuvuosina Sonninen toimi useiden eri sairaaloiden palveluksessa ja teki alansa opintomatkoja Yhdysvaltoihin ja lukuisiin maihin Euroopassa.[1] Professorin arvonimi Sonniselle myönnettiin 1981.[2]
