Coenred dari Mercia

Coenred (juga dieja Cenred atau Cœnred^[1] fl. 675–709) adalah raja Mercia dari 704 hingga 709. Dia adalah putra raja Wulfhere dan istrinya Ermenilda. Ketika ayahandanya meninggal pada 675, pamandanya Æthelred menjadi raja. Dia turun takhta untuk menerima perintah pada 704, dan Coenred kemudian naik takhta.

Tidak banyak yang diketahui tentang pemerintahan singkat Coenred, selain penyebutan invasi Welsh dalam sumber kontemporer. Coenred turun takhta pada 709 untuk pergi berziarah ke Roma^[2], di mana ia menjadi seorang rahib dan meninggal pada tanggal yang tidak diketahui. Baik istri maupun keturunannya tidak diketahui, meskipun kronik-kronik selanjutnya menjadikannya leluhur Raja Wigstan († 849). Sepupunya Ceolred, putra Æthelred, menggantikannya.
