グレーター・ボストン（Greater Boston）はアメリカニューイングランド地方に位置する都市圏である。中心都市はボストンであり、マサチューセッツ州の大半、およびニューハンプシャー州南部の一部を含む。

グレーター・ボストンのハイレベルな高等教育機関と医療機関はアメリカに大きくに貢献し、バイオテクノロジー、人工知能、エンジニアリング、高等教育、金融、海上貿易などの分野では世界をリードしている[1][2]。2020年の国勢調査によると、グレーター・ボストンの人口は4,941,632人であり、アメリカ10番目の都市圏である[3]。

グレーター・ボストン地域は、米国の歴史において、科学、商業、文化の面で重要な役割を果たした。南北戦争前では、グレーター・ボストンは奴隷制度廃止運動、禁酒運動[4]、超絶主義[5][6]の中心地だった。2004年、マサチューセッツ州はアメリカ初の同性婚を認めた州になった[7]。ケンブリッジにあるハーバード大学はアメリカ最古の高等教育機関であり[8]、世界の大学のなかでは最も裕福な財政基盤を有する[9]。ハーバード大学とマサチューセッツ工科大学は、世界で最も高評価な学術機関にランクされている[10]。
