砕歯目(さいしもく、Sparassodonta)は後獣類の絶滅した目。肉食性で、南アメリカに棲息した。有袋類に近縁。かつては有袋類と考えられていたが、現在は有袋類の共通祖先以前に分かれた個別の系統群であると考えられている[4][5][6][7][8]。本グループに属す捕食者の多くは有胎盤類の捕食者とは別の大陸で別々に進化し、収斂進化の好例としてよく取り上げられる。フロレンティーノ・アメギノによってパタゴニアのSanta Cruz層の化石が最初に記載された。砕歯類は新生代の間、南アメリカ大陸の長い孤立期間を通じて存在していたが、この間、大型の温血捕食者というニッチを、飛べない恐鳥と共有した。かつては鮮新世のアメリカ大陸間大交差で流入してきた有胎盤類の食肉類に競争で敗れたことで絶滅したと考えられていたが、最近の研究から、有胎盤類の捕食動物が南アメリカに来る遙か前に絶滅していたことが示された[9][10][11]。ボルヒエナ形目(Borhyaenimorphia)[12]あるいはスパラソドント類ともいう[13]。研究者によっては砕歯類をborhyaenoidsと呼ぶことがあるが、現在ではBorhyaenoideaは砕歯類の下位分類群を指す[14][15]。
