Brodzik[2] (Colomys) – rodzaj ssaków z podrodziny myszy (Murinae) w obrębie rodziny myszowatych (Muridae).
Zasięg występowania
Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w Afryce (Gwinea, Liberia, Kamerun, Sudan Południowy, Republika Środkowoafrykańska (występowanie niepewne), Gwinea Równikowa, Kongo, Demokratyczna Republika Konga, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenia, Zambia, Angola)[3][4][5].
Morfologia
Długość ciała (bez ogona) 109–151 mm, długość ogona 134–189 mm, długość ucha 14–22 mm, długość tylnej stopy 32–42 mm; masa ciała 41,5–82 g[6][4][7].
Systematyka
Rodzaj zdefiniowała w 1907 roku para angielskich zoologów Oldfield Thomas i Robert Charles Wroughton na łamach The Annals and Magazine of Natural History[1]. Na gatunek typowy autorzy wyznaczyli (oryginalne oznaczenie) brodzika afrykańskiego (C. goslingi).
Etymologia
Colomys: gr. κωλον kōlon ‘kończyna, członek’; μυς mus, μυος muos ‘mysz’[1].
