The Ocean Stakes (Japanese オーシャンステークス) is a Grade 3 horse race for Thoroughbreds aged four and over, run in March over a distance of 1200 meters on turf at Nakayama Racecourse.[1]
The Ocean Stakes was first run in 1996 at 1,800 meters. The distance was changed to 1,200 meters in 1997 and has held Grade 3 status since 2006. From 2014, the race serves as a trial race for the Takamatsunomiya Kinen.[2]
