Mutasd a hangod! (English: Show me your voice!)[1] is a Hungarian television mystery music game show series based on the South Korean programme I Can See Your Voice. It aired on TV2 from 10 September 2023[2][3] to 10 March 2024, for two seasons.

Gameplay

Format

Presented with a group of six "mystery singers" identified only by their occupation, a guest artist and a group of two contestants must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of three rounds. At the end of the game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.[4]

The contestants must eliminate one mystery singer at the end of each round, receiving 500,000 Ft if they eliminate a bad singer. At the end of the game, the contestants may either end the game and keep the money they had won in previous rounds, or risk it for a chance to win 5,000,000 Ft by correctly guessing whether the last remaining mystery singer is good or bad.

Rounds

Lip sync round

Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song; good singers mime to a recording of their own, while bad singers mime to a recording by someone else. At the conclusion of performances, the contestants eliminate one mystery singer from each group.

  • s1–2: A pair of mystery singers perform a lip sync of their own through a showdown.

Evidence round

  • s1–2: The guest artist and contestants are presented with a video package containing possible clues by one of the mystery singers of their choice.

Interrogation round

  • s1–2: The guest artist and contestants may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.

Background

Production and development

Prior to CJ ENM's dealing with Fremantle in November 2020,[5] RTL Klub and TV2 have made interests to produce a local adaptation of I Can See Your Voice in Hungary.[6] Also, RTL Magyarország has preparations for adapting another South Korean show,[7] following the successful broadcasts of Álarcos énekes.[8] In the end, TV2 Csoport would formally acquire the rights in April 2023,[9] including with production duties assigned by IKO Műsorgyártó.[10]

Naming

The show's title Mutasd a hangod![1] comes from a direct Hungarian translation of the French counterpart Show Me Your Voice.[11][12] It was tentatively titled Látom a hangodat from the same process as in the English title I Can See Your Voice.[6]

Broadcast history

Mutasd a hangod! debuted on 10 September 2023,[2][3] but the first season finale that initially scheduled for 7 October 2023,[13] was occupied by a fourth season [hu] premiere of Ázsia Expressz [hu];[14][15] it formally aired on 9 December 2023.[16][17] During the Big Picture upfronts in October 2023, the series was already renewed for a second season[18][19] that premiered on 3 February 2024.[20][21]
